Please join the Citi Global Insights Sustainability team along with Jay Collins, Vice Chairman, Citi Investment Banking as they discuss the United Nations COP27 climate conference which has drawn to a close, following two weeks of negotiations in Egypt. Our panel will assess what was decided, the compromises made and if agreements went far enough. We will also discuss the feasibility of a loss and damage fund, a commitment made by developed countries to provide financial support to less wealthy countries that have suffered damage from climate change. In our recent report launched at COP27 in the UNFCCC pavilion, Citi GPS: Climate Finance – Mobilizing the Public and Private Sector to Ensure a Just Energy Transition , we show that no single country or region is currently on track to meet their climate financing needs and that climate investment flows need to be scaled up substantially across all regions to achieve net zero.
