On March 1, 2021, Jane Fraser became Citi’s Chief Executive Officer and the first woman to lead a major U.S. bank. On her first day as CEO, she announced Citi’s commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, including those Citi directly produces and those contributed to by our financing. Fraser’s vision for Citi emphasizes modernization, excellence and empathy. In a statement posted on social media, Fraser said “Together, we’re charting a new course for the world’s most global bank – a bank that is systemically important to the world – a bank that is iconic – a bank that champions excellence.”
