The Citi Canada Charity Golf Tournament began nearly a decade ago as a small fundraising initiative of the Citi Canada United Way committee. The tournament has since grown into our largest charitable endeavour of the year. Today the Citi Canada Advisory Council votes on a new community partner for the golf tournament each year, and funds raised go toward directly supporting one of their critical programs. In 2016, Citi Canada partnered with Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Toronto, an organization that provides a “home away from home” for seriously ill children and their families to heal better together.
Funds from the tournament supported the RMHC Toronto School program, which is available for patients and siblings from junior kindergarten to grade 12 who are staying at the house. The school supports families in a meaningful and impactful way by helping children maintain academic standing and providing a sense of normalcy while supporting their complex emotional and learning needs.
