Northcott is a not-for-profit disability service provider that works with people with disability to realise their potential.
As one of Australia’s largest not-for-profit disability service organisations, we provide services from metropolitan and regional locations throughout NSW and the ACT. We have more than 90 years of experience and expertise in the disability service industry. A registered NDIS provider, we employ over 2000 staff and provide empowering, personalised services to over 12,000 people with disability, their families and carers each year driven by our purpose to build an inclusive society where people can live the life they choose .
The Northcott Experience Tasker (NEXT) program will support young people with disability aged 17-24 to develop important vocational skills through focused networking, training, and mentoring opportunities. The program will resource Northcott to work more closely with employers, identify their needs, and engage with registered training organisations to enhance employment opportunities for young people with disability. Northcott will develop tasks and simulated work experiences that deliver youth with disability tailored support aligned to real-world hiring requirements, labour gaps, and emerging workforce trends.
NEXT will provide an integrated approach, delivered in a supported environment that includes vocational and soft skill training, access to positive and authentic experiential learning opportunities, and job support for the young person and the employer.
