In Australia, Citi and Citi Foundation supports community organsiations through volunteering and the Global Innovation Challenge.
The Global Innovation Challenge provides philanthropic support to community organisations that are developing innovative solutions to social and economic challenges facing low-income communities around the world.
The Citi Foundation launched its inaugural Global Innovation Challenge in 2023, supporting 50 community organisations with a total of US$25 million focused on improving food security globally.
In Australia, Open Food Network were successful in receiving a grant for US$500,000. Read more about the project here.
In 2024 the Global Innovation Challenge will provide a further $25million in funding to 50 community organisations working in novel ways to address homelessness.
Housing insecurity is a global concern, with the United Nations estimating that roughly 150 million people worldwide are homeless. Citi and the Citi Foundation recognize that safe, affordable and stable housing is a key contributor to the economic and social well-being of individuals, families and communities.
