Document Presentation

Our Open Account Document Presentation service allows you to present documents to Citi for examination of documents and prompt notification to Jones for further action.

How It Works:

  • Jones presents Purchase Order (PO) details related to the commercial trade transaction to Citibank.
  • Based upon Jones PO requirements, you present commercial documents (for example, shipping and any other required documents) along with the Document Transmittal Form (sample included in this package) directly to a Citibank Trade Services Window. Please see the Key Contact Information for the addresses of the Trade Services Windows.
  • On behalf of Jones, Citibank performs a review of documents against Jones’s predefined examination elements. For example, Citibank flags late shipments or a unit price difference, making it easier to identify and resolve issues quickly.
  • Citibank electronically communicates presentation details to Jones. This normally takes place within one day of receipt of your documents.
  • Jones, in its sole discretion, is responsible for and determines if and when payment is to be made and electronically communicates the payment decisions back to Citibank.
  • In the event your documents do not comply with Jones’s predefined examination elements, Citibank will attempt to notify you via the e-mail address as indicated on the Document Transmittal Form of the pending documentation irregularities. This message will include a Citibank Bill Reference Number which you can use for any customer service inquiry.
  • You are encouraged to use our online Trade Advisor status portal which can provide up-to-the-minute information on the status of your documentation and is located at: www.citidirect.com
(Click "Trade Advisor" along the top bar. For each transaction, enter your Vendor Reference Number or the Citibank Bill Reference Number and other related information and press "Search"). No user registration is required.
  • For customer service inquiries, please click here for local contact information.
  • Once notified by Jones whether documents are accepted or rejected, Citibank will attempt to notify you via the e-mail address as indicated on the Document Transmittal Form. If the documents are accepted, the e-mail will indicate payment amount and due date. If the documents are rejected, you will be notified that further action is required.
  • Upon receipt of funds from Jones, Citibank shall remit payment in accordance with your instructions on the Document Transmittal form.

Neither Citibank nor any of its affiliates nor their respective officers, directors, employees, attorneys, agents, successors and assigns hereby assumes any responsibility for the payment of any invoices or any other liability whatsoever owing to you from Jones, as Citibank will be acting merely as processing and paying agent for the account of Jones.
